A veteran of comedy in the New York city clubs she says, “I’m energized with the excitement that goes on in the moment between myself and my audiences!, ”Peaches, her real name, Mariette, really got her start in show business as a BREAK-dancer in feature films like “Beat Street” and numerous MTV music videos.
She turned to comedy only after a knee injury forced her out of dancing.
In the late 90’s Rodriguez joined an Improv group “Improv This!” and also took comedy writing classes. Eventually, she decided to embark on a full time career as a stand-up comic. Using her past experience as a dancer, Rodriguez re-funneled that powerful energy into comedy, which has proven to work very well for her. She quickly became one of the most popular comics in New York City and has been featured in many national TV shows and Festivals. She’s hugely popular with Colleges as well. | |
