My parents taught music, I started learning the violin age 6, and at 16 was the leader of the Oxfordshire Youth Orchestra. Got my first guitar in 1967. First paid gig was playing bass for a jazz band in Solihull in 1971. Since then, have played with countless talented but unheard-of musicians, in England, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, India and the USA. I've played jazz bass, country bass, folk guitar, rock guitar, jazz guitar, blues guitar, and dabbled with mandolin, ukelele, psaltery, autoharp, dulcimer, banjo and sitar. I let the violin go....
I released two albums of original material in the 80's, acoustic/electric guitar instrumentals in collaboration with John LoGiudici in San Francisco. My first true solo album, 'Panama', came out in November 2009. The new album 'Consolacion' was released at the end of November 2012.
Currently performing on guitar, solo or as accompanist to Julia Sobieska, Lily Shea, AdamTunji and Elizabeth McGovern, and (until recently) playing bass with the Curveball Quartet, in and around London.
