I began learning the piano at age 5, and at 18 I am a skilled classical pianist whose performing services have been enlisted on a number of occasions. I began singing from a young age, and taught myself to sing and accompany myself on piano in my childhood years. At age 13 I was employed at a local restaurant as session pianist, and from then on was employed several times for one-off performances, some local and some outside the district, at VIP events at restaurants, boutiques and house parties, and also at fundraising events in the local area. At age 15 I was asked to perform at the local state school's 90th birthday gala by the local MP, again on voice and piano. I was a member of the Queensland Conservatorium's Young Conservatorium Chamber Choir from age 12 until graduating school. During this time, I began taking classical lessons for my voice, and was last year accepted into the Bachelor of Music/Arts at the University of Queensland, to major in classical voice. I am now able to sing operatically, as well as in pop and rock styles, due to my training.
As well as performing experience and classical training, I am also a budding composer. The majority of my pieces are songs for voice and piano, which have been well received by the public at the aforementioned events. However, I am also able to write, and have written, orchestral and ensembles pieces for other classical instruments, many of which are used in symphonic metal music. Thus, I would be able to assist in arranging the instrumentation of symphonic metal songs, and in the development of melody and harmony within such pieces, as well as providing classically trained vocals for your already written songs.
As I have said, despite my rather classical and traditional musical background, I have a great passion for symphonic metal and have always aspired to be the lead singer of such a band. I believe I have the talent, motivation, drive and natural performing ability required for such a position, and I would love the opportunity to prove to you in person these traits, and why I am thus highly suitable for this role.
