| Following a long-held career in sales and marketing, I decided to leave the rat race and follow my heart earning a crust doing all things creative. I am currently self-employed and work as a singer; a novelty cake-maker and as a web-designer.
My singing work involves working for many of the UK ABBA tribute bands, standing in as a 'depper' as either Frida or Agnetha, and I fulfilled my dream earlier this year when I flew to Moscow to perform as Frida for 'Bjorn Again' - the worlds' most famous tribute band. I also sing as a solo artist in pubs and social clubs, and also occasionally as part of a duo called 'Liquid Velvet' accompanied by a pianist, singing timeless classical hits.
My voice is often described as sounding a bit like Karen Carpenter, and also like Frida from ABBA. Technically it spans the ranges of a Mezzosoprano and a Contralto.
I don't mind long drives, so am available for any work in the UK. | |

Children in Need 1999: Sang as one of the singers in 'Dr Love & the Disco Divas' at the Nottingham BBC studio, which was shown on the regional and national TV.
Star for a Night 1999: Auditioned for Star for a Night and was interviewd by Jane MacDonald (the programme host). Audition and interview was shown on TV.

ABBA tribute singer.
Since 1999 I have sang with many ABBA tribute bands including Bjorn Again, ABBA Illusion, ABBA UK, Abba's Angels, ABBA Now, ABBA Revolution, ABBAdabadoo, Counterfeit ABBA, and ABBA Queens (plus others) - either as a permanent member or as a depper. Venues include theatres; corporate events; holiday camps (including Butlins, Haven and Center Parcs); outdoor stadiums (including Trento, Italy 2008 - in the snow in -6 degrees C to an audience of 10,000); large night-clubs; weddings; and tribute night dinners.
Performances usually include choreographed dances and getting into character with Swedish accents and ad-lib banter, and of course the rich harmonising which ABBA were well known for (one of my key strengths).
Supported the Bay City Rollers in 2000 when they played in Nottingham.
Solo Artist:
Solo singing in pubs and social clubs in the East Midlands - accompanied by backing tracks.
70's singer:
Sang as a backing singer, dancer and sometimes lead-singer for Dr Love & the Disco Divas - a 7-piece disco dance band. Sang around the East Midlands and featured on Children in Need (East Mids regional) 1999. Also supported the Trogs; and Dave Dee, Dosey, Beaky, Mick and Titch.
80's Singer
Sang as a lead and backing singer for '80- Something' (live 6-piece band) 2002-2003.
Also sang with 'Quick Silver' - an 80's rock show band as a Cher and Shania Twain tribute singer.
I often work as a 'depper' filling in for singers who are unavailable.
Duo work:
Sing as part of my own duo 'Liquid Velvet' with a piano accompanist, singing a wide variety of classic hits suited to the piano.

I have grade 8 piano.
Competed in various music festivals - Leicester, Oundle, Oakham, Grantham, and Hornsea.
Played to audiences accompanying various choirs in festivals and competitions.
Also taught the piano in the past.
