As a toddler Dylan spent hours in the basement play-fighting and doing skits with his older brother T.J. Dylan was known as the family's dramatic child who could always make you laugh with his funny expressions and weird movements. At the age of 6 Dylan won acting/modeling contest, soon after started acting classes with Kate Rubin Studios, was hand picked for 2 short movies with the Victoria Film School; was then chosen to do a lead role in a mini series "Gibson Gus" with May Street Productions. When Dylan was 10 yrs old he wanted more acting so he began doing theatre classes with the Kaleidoscope Theatre. Dylan also enjoyed doing monologues, one of these monologues being Shakespeare, so was later chosen for the role of "Prince of York" in eight summer performances with the Victoria Shakespeare Society; Dylan never missed a practice or performance. Soon after Dylan did 2 stand up comedy monologues for his school talent show which was well received. By October Dylan was chosen for a lead supportive silent role with the Pacific Opera Society in a play called Rodelina; Dylan played Rodelina's son "Flavio." By age 11 Dylan auditioned for, and was awarded, a 2 week intense acting course with Patrick Day and Nora Eckstein at Young Actors Space in L.A. with the Australian Institute of Performing Arts (Marg Haynes/ Russel). While in L.A., Dylan was called up to audition for several top Agents of L.A. such as Amanda MacKay Johnson, Melissa Berger Brennan (Nickelodeon). On returning to Canada, Dylan was picked up by agent "Stacey Ando" from the "Characters Talent Agency" and has been busy since doing auditions for Film/ Television here in Canada. Dylan gets further coaching and help from known actress "Christine Willes." Dylan has a recurring guest role in ABC's Once Upon a Time Season 1, and 2 and has worked closely beside actor Robert Carlyle and Brad Durif; Dylan worked with Directors Michael Waxman, Paul Edwards, Ralph Hemecker, and Dean White; Dylan also recently worked in an episode of Fox's "Fringe" with Director David Solomon; Dylan also finished shooting a commercial for Infinity car. When Dylan was 13 he was picked for 2 lead roles with "R.L. Stine's, The Haunting Hour," called "The Golem," then did a principal role in the Feature Film "Kid Cannabis" with Director John Stockwell. At age 12 Dylan was chosen for a lead role in a Feature Film called "Horns" with Daniel Radcliffe, Max Minghella, and Director Alexandre Aja. At age 13 Dylan did a lead role for Disney's tv movie Bunks. Dylan is home schooled thanks to the awesome support of teachers Erin Young, (late) Mark Guillford, and Heather Huck and his math tutor from Gordon Head School Tomo Vranjes; Dylan's biggest support has been from his big brother Todd Wayne Schmid who has tutored Dylan his math for 2 yrs and volunteered to film many of Dylan's auditions over the years. In June 2014 Dylan was awarded, and completed, an acting scholarship in L.A. California that was a 6 week Intense Master's Acting Class acting called P.A.M. which was run by the Australian Institute of Performing Arts (AIPA). In 2015 Dylan again was awarded and completed another professional masters scholarship program down in L.A. California with A.I.P.A.
