There have been a number of experiences over the course of my secondary school life that have increased my understanding of the world in which I want to learn and work. Throughout year 11, I studied expressive arts which suited my broad appeal of different creative art forms comprising of acting, filmmaking, fine art and more. After schooldays in the same year I attended evening sessions with the famous Bristol Old Vic theatre in which the theatre school staff supported a group of young people my age improve their acting skills. This all helped lead my decision to follow a full-time Media course for my post-16 study in which I have gained countless more experiences that have strengthened my project management, creative development and technical development skills. More recently, I returned to Bristol Old Vic to take part in a nationwide public performance project 'Project O'.
In my current studies at level 3, I have built a particular interest in the complex art of storytelling and filmmaking which is a combination I hope to continue and build into my future work.
I am fluent in three languages; English, Arabic and Kurdish. I thoroughly enjoy coming up with ideas and resolving problems. I am a person who prefers a challenging goal over an option that is immediately available to me. This is because I prefer to learn new things during my projects that always proves far more useful for future life. Outside of performance, my whole family and I have also always been good at Maths. Having been in England for a near nine years, I strive to be the first in my family to attend university level study, which would instil a great sense of pride amongst them. A number of my interests outside of academic studies include playing basketball, which keeps me active and keeping up with friends I have made as a result of my broad interests.
