After over 10 years of classical training and performing across Europe, i decided to stop music for a while and let my voice rest so i could switch to a more personal musical genre. I felt an urge for composing and storytelling that opera did not provide. I also had to survive a terrible illness for over 8years that almost had me gone in 2016. This contributed to giving me a very different..broken..and a definitely new voice. It was like starting all over again! Now over the last few years, i have been exploring different musical styles and influences and have traveled all over the world soaking in as many new influences as possible performing small gigs here and there on the way, getting together with musicians of all sorts. Currently part of a soul-fusion duo, we only perform our own songs and love to improvise live. We've been performing together for over a year , most times in Switzerland and France but also abroad in Argentina for a month, while starting to record the first songs of our EP. It's an exciting adventure!
Having now a completely different voice then my classical one, it has been hard to find artists to relate to and i realized i had to compose my own songs in order to feel comfortable with my "grain". Unfortunately, i suffered a long illness brought back from a trip to Colombia where i co-produced an artist's album just after the loss of a loved one, which made it impossible for me to complete certain projects such as my album in london and a few others in Paris.
However, it has taught me so much, made me so much stronger and aware of the world around me then i used to be. i feel like my mind is soaring with a million stories, good and bad, and now that i am back up and running haha i can't wait to reinvest myself in something fun yet intense and challenging.
Being French-Italian-Montenegrien from my parents and having been born and raised in Africa, Switzerland amongst other places, i therefore speak French, English and Spanish fluently, have a good level of italian , and a basic level of portuguese and german. Thanks to opera i've also sang phonetically in many other languages ranging from Russian to Catalan, Czech and Latin and i'm always happy to try new things.
I believe i have a "particular" type of voice..actually i used to call it strange! And it took me a long time to accept. However, an artist has come along lately that has helped undo my fears. (Clare Bowen from the Nashville series). Discovering her has helped me a lot in my latest musical developments.
As for logistics, I own my company in switzerland, therefore i am flexible to travel anywhere for musical projects should they come to life...!
I look forward to hearing from people out there who might be interested in working with a new voice and in the mean time i'll keep practicing and composing!
Warm wishes and all the best to everyone out there on their artistic journeys!
