I taught dance for more than 40 years. During that time I was engaged in choreography, syllabus design, teacher training and lecturing at Victoria University. Coming from a combined professional dance and education background, I have a broad skill set to share.
Concurrent with primary school teaching, I continued my advanced dance training at leading dance studios in Melbourne, Pineapple Dance Studios in London and The Joffrey Ballet School and Broadway Dance Center in New York.
In 1986 I collaborated with a colleague to create 10 new levels of Jazz Dance. This work expanded to become Southern Federation of Dance (SFD). I worked as both President and Secretary of SFD, as well as a dance examiner and adjudicator; examined thousands of dance student exams in ballet, jazz and tap over a 20 year period. For SFD I instigated competitions, masterclasses, teacher training courses, and workshops. I've also mentored trainee dance examiners.
During 2001 and 2002, I lectured in Dance and Drama at Victoria University, in the School of Human Movement, Recreation and Performance.
From 1996 - 2017 I ran a large dance schools in both Brighton and Point Cook.
In 2018 & 2019 I was Assistant Choreographer for the Aus & NZ tour of Madiba The Musical, and Local Choreographer for the Australian tour of Fastlove - a tribute to George Michael.
