I’ve danced since the age of two. However I haven’t necessarily done the one genre for the past 15 years. I started off going to ballet at the age of two then when I turned four years I began to take up disco freestyle. I completed at a high level which took me extremely far in the ‘freestyle world’ whilst winning top titles. During this time I stuck at my essentials, ballet, and I also did some highland dancing as a more fun and relaxing aspect of dance. After accomplishing a lot by the age of 7 at dance, I left freestyle to take on lyrical and cheer where I also competed at a high level and would like to say I did very well in also. I stuck at this for a long while before finding a dance studio that focused harshly on ballet, tap, lyrical and modern which is what I preferred. During my time being at this studio I did not compete. I just trained. And trained... and trained!! Loving everything about it! My training paid off when I was granted the first solo to perform at the annual show. The following year I was then the lead of the ballet recital as I played the ugly duckling. Whilst doing strict ballet and lyrical I was also enjoying and competing in 4 piece gymnastics which benefit my dance loads due to the conditioning and solid structure. In the last 4 years I have recently returned to Disco freestyle as well as my other activities to compete at a high level again and I’m extremely proud to say I was able to balance all my commitments and use all my lessons learned to retain back a lot of the big titles from a decade ago when I competed freestyle disco the first time round. This is where I am currently at and would not have it any other way! I absolutely LOVE to dance it is my passion.
