Jessika Brust landed her first singing gig in the first grade, and has been on the stage ever since. She participated in various choirs, jazz ensembles, and musicals while growing up; then attended Elon University to obtain minors in both Music and Theatre, while focusing her studies heavily on jazz and opera performance. Upon graduation, she attended the American Institute for Musical Studies in Graz, Austria; where she studied opera performance and a bit of music theatre. Professionally, Jessika toured around the US with a show band as a front lady for many years, then began playing with several cover bands, country bands, and rock bands (did we mention she also plays fiddle?). Simultaneously she picked up roles like ‘Mrs. Cratchit’ in Ira David Wood III’s musical rendition of A Christmas Carol, ‘Alma’ in The Music Man with the North Carolina Symphony, ‘Diana’ in Next to Normal, and ‘Joan Fletcher’ in Gershwin’s Strike Up the Band with the Raleigh Symphony; then made her professional opera debut with Verdi’s Aida, produced by North Carolina Opera. Simultaneously, Jessika has been working on a duo recording project called The Hourglass, and they are pleased to announce the release of their first EP, entitled "Over Land, Over Seas", now available on iTunes. She then left the states for a long while to work at sea as an acclaimed performer and producer of shows, which included repertoire from opera to Appalachian to funk, and everything in between.
