I have sung in choirs from 5 and studied 'good ol' school' piano from age 7. I started tackling latin and jazz at 13 and learnt to harmonize and improvise along to it. I formed my first trio at 15, in which I was singing and backing myself on the piano in a variety of favorite danceable styles (swing, salsa, samba, bosa nova, bolero, latin rock, pop rock, soul, rhythm and blues) and got my first professional engagement at 17. From there on, things took off quickly : I was first offered a one-year engagement as cocktail band leader for the Djerba Club Med Resort, then found myself moving to Andalusia, part of my family originates from, and basing myself in the Marbella area for the next three years. Costa del Sol in the 80's turned out to be the ideal place for me to perfect my piano bar artistic performance before crossover English / Spanish spoken audiences, while occasionally also singing in French, Italian and Brazilian when I felt the moment called for it. I then headed back north to Luxembourg where interesting engagements stood in the offing for me and came to establish myself there, entertaining cosmopolitan audiences at exclusive venues and private events on a fairly regular basis. I landed among other things a one-year engagement for RTL as musical host to a sunday broadcasting called "Tremplin" (French for "launchpad"), a popular TV singing contest back then. Banking on my newfound fame, I opened my own piano bar cocktail lounge ("Madison"), where I regularly appeared as main artist while managing the place over the course of two years. After selling the place to a new purchaser, I continued performing for high-flying venues, five-stars hotels, exclusive private parties, notably in Italy, France, Belgium, Holland and Germany, where my latin touch became increasingly successful.
In a nutshell, I can pride on + 25 years of piano bar music experience, a + 1000 covers repertoire in 5 major languages (Spanish, English, French, Italian, Brazilian), I fluently read and write music, adapt, arrange and create for bands, choirs and orchestras, I can learn a popular song within minutes, effectively back other professional singers, embed my performance in any solid-sounding band, help out with basic PA knowledge and manage the musical side of an event. At best, any decent-sounding resident piano / keyboard with perhaps a small vocal PA will do, though I can naturally provide my own keyboard and a small combo PA if need be. And this is just barely scratching the surface...
