I started acting in October 2014, playing 4 characters in a production of Oliver. A Christmas Panto followed before a serious acting role in Hedda Gabler - which led to my first feature film in June 2015. In August I played Alan Turin in the highly regarded Bench Theatre production of Breaking The Code- to great acclaim, and my first TV appearance (BBC) followed soon after.
In 2018 I had acting roles in 2 feature films (Cinema/Prime), Sky TV (twice) , an indent, a commercial and numerous corporate and role plays. I am pleased to add that I have been cast in a main role for a TV Series (Ch.4/Netflix) and the lead in an upcoming Indy film.
I have a professional background in music, with experience of stage and studio work. I also worked in radio for a number of years.
I am an honest and genuinely decent person and would love to progress and realise my potential. I always give 100% and I'm easy to work with. I have a variety and an intensity to my acting that is often complimented upon and my recommendations are exceptional - some of which I have included below after my credits. Thanks for reading.

The Bench Theatre - Breaking The Code - Alan Turing (Main) - Reviews :- 'Jonathan Abbott has 'it'...an incredible performance', “…as for the lead man Jonathan Abbott he was just so good…”, "....Jonathan Abbott’s rendition of his hesitant stammering voice was a revelation…” , “…So moving and Jon Abbott - 'wow' is all I can say….” , "The play belonged to Jonathan Abbott for his heroic marathon, on stage throughout - a remarkable emotional achievement" .
Director Alan Ward - 'I found him to be one of the most hard working and giving actors I have come across. His enthusiasm for acting is boundless as is his willingness to take direction and listen to advice in an effort to improve his craft can only be commended. Always keen to learn new things, he is also very supportive of others and is a real team player. I would be more than happy to cast him in any of my shows and I do not hesitate to say he would be an asset to any production'
Director David Burden - Feature Film - 'Jon worked with me on a feature. He had to do a very long speech which he learnt until he was word perfect. The chemistry of the actors on the shoot was perfect and Jon led the first half of the scene, with his speech, perfectly. He was inspiring, and a pleasure to work with. I can wholeheartedly recommend him as an actor.'
Deals With The Devil - Short Film. Director Matty Norris - "We cast Jon as Vince, a loan shark with a troubled past and a plan for revenge. The character was quite complex and it was therefore no easy task to nail the character down. Jon brilliantly captured the mixed emotions of Vince's character, as well as adding his own quirks to give the character a pinch of madness that we all thought made him more compelling. As well as this, Jon took direction from myself superbly. It was a pleasure to work with Jon and I would jump at the opportunity to work with him again."
Director Joel Hatton -'The Returned - 'Jonathan is a joy to work with. He is both pleasant and helpful on and off the set and takes a genuine interest in other parts of the production. He is a reliable and humble character but still confident enough to offer his own ideas. Would recommend to anyone, and would love to work with him again!'
Director Barney Arathoon - Indy Film 'Jon was a delight to work with. He was smart and very aware of his character. He was adaptable and took direction well, and was also very patient while we were setting up and preparing the set. A very friendly, easy-going, passionate actor, I would 100% work with him again'
