Directing & Writing ability
I have a bachelor of science degree in TV and Media from Institute of Technology Carlow.
I was also in Bray Institute of Further Education, doing the TV and Film Production course in Bray, County Wicklow. As of now I have a FETAC Level 5 certificate in TV and Film Production. In these colleges I made short films and other projects.
I wrote, directed, produced, camera operated and edited a short called "The Snipping".
I also wrote, directed, camera operated and edited a documentary about how the D-day scene in "Saving Private Ryan" was filmed on Curracloe Beach in Wexford, Ireland. It is called "Saving Curracloe Ryan".
I also served as a variety of roles for TV studio projects such as Camera operator, Director of Photography, Lighting, Assistant Director and Vision Mixer.
I was an editor on a VT documentary based on food in culture in Ireland called "Ireland is delicious".
I worked as a 2nd Assistant Director on the location shoot of our final end of year TV project called "The Fortnightly Show".
I recently wrote and directed a war film shot down in Wexford (Currently in Post). Its working title is "On the Run".
I was also director on a new comedy short drama, "Deception", we shot in April 2017. I also served as a writer, producer and sound editor.
I wrote, directed and co-shot a short film about a rogue violent environment loving hippie: “Snapped”. It won best student film at the Highway Walker Film Fest In Alaska USA. It also won best cinematography at the Great Message International film fest in India in September in 2019.
Another grand short of mine is “One Catholic Helps Another” which is about a Catholic British soldier who could have a sad ending at the gunsight of Catholic Irishman in 1870s Ireland. It was screened at fests around the world including the Galway Film Fleadh, Peak city international film fest, NC, USA and Great Message International film fest, India.
I also wrote, directed, shot and edited my longest short to date-“No one is perfect)”. It’s about a marketing manager who falls to guilt after the death of an autistic man as a result of him not been able to afford to live. And that’s due to the autistic man not having money on the count he was declined of a job position at the managers business because of his autism. It won a grand jury win for best student film at the New York International Film Awards April 2020 edition.
I’m also aiming to do many smaller experimental short film works from time to time such as a super 8 project and an animated short film.
Recently I wrote and directed an animated one minute short film that was screened at the 2021 Underground Cinema Film Festival Dun Laoghaire.
I’m currently now making my feature film “First time with ghosts” (In development).
