Actors Wanted for Horror Short Film - Leeds
Twenty year-old Claire enters an abandoned building looking for her Grandfather, but instead comes face-to-face with a terrifying supernatural force.
About the Filmmakers:
Director Matthew J. Lawrence has several short films under his belt and two features (both of which secured distribution)
The film will be shot on location in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Although we're planning to cover expenses, it's unlikely that we'll have enough to cover hotel costs. This means we'll need the cast to be local or have somewhere to stay locally.
This is a very low budget production so we can only offer expenses as well as some good food and a copy of the final film. This project is about giving an opportunity for the collaborators to have their work seen and to gain experience to go on to work on bigger projects, so we’re not making it with the intention of generating profit.
I don't consider this to be a commercial project but more of a collaboration between people who just want to get their work seen. I'm not making any money from the film, in fact I'm putting some of my own money into it just to make something that will give myself and the cast and crew decent exposure. I think this is a great opportunity which is particularly suited to people starting out and looking to build a list of credits.

This is the lead role. Claire is fun and outgoing but also an extremely caring person. When her Granddad runs away from his care home, Claire sets out to look for him. When she sees him going into the abandoned “Hope House” she decides to follow, unaware of the dangers that await her.
Females, aged 18 to 25
This is a supporting role. Rachel is Claire’s best friend and like Claire she is bubbly and full of life. However, she is the more sensible one of the pair. When Claire decides to trespass into Hope House it is Rachel who warns her against it. Something just doesn’t feel right but even Rachel cannot know the danger in store for her friend.
Females, aged 18 to 25
This is a supporting role. At first glance Claire’s Granddad seems like an ordinary man, although there is something unsettling that we can’t quite put our finger on. By the end of the film he is downright terrifying.
