‘The Worst ’ is a horror drama that explores our relationship with anxiety and how not properly engaging with our fears and our hopes can malform our sense of self. The film poses the question, is anxiety truly a foe or could it be a friend?
We're looking for a male aged between 40s - early 60s, preferably of South Asian background, to play the role of the estranged father in our short film.
Audition / Rehearsal / Production datesAuditions will be held at JMC Sydney (561 Harris St, Ultimo) [DATE IS TO BE DETERMINED], by appointment. The audition will involve a written scene from the script and a short improvisation.
SHOOT DATES: Consecutive shoot days from 24th - 30th June. Major rehearsals take place sometime between 2nd June - 20th June.
This job is unpaid - It is a student short film.
Dad (nameless in the script) embodies hard-working immigrant, his hands are rough from labour, his eyes are weary from years of night shifts but he takes pride in all that he’s accomplished. He’s rough, intense but there’s a warmth in his heart.
We're looking for someone who can balance a cold outer gruffness with a genuine kindness underneath the layers. A South Asian background is preferred.
