Two Male Actors Aged 30s & 40s for Fringe Play "The Drunkards"

Victoria, Australia
Listed by View details

Golden Fleece Theatre is still looking for two male actors for its upcoming production of "The Drunkards" for this year's Melbourne Fringe.

We have secured the Alex Theatre as our performance venue.

The production has secured a portion of funding from a City of Port Phillip grant & contains experienced actors from 16th Street, VCA & other highly rated schools.

Adam Marsh, a 16th Street Graduate will take the helm of Director and will work very closely with actors with a variety of different acting method techniques to bring the best out of their performance.

6 August 1945, at the La Fonda Hotel in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the Manhattan Project team is gathered to celebrate the successful dropping of the first non-experimental atomic bomb over Hiroshima. The partakers of this macabre dinner party are the scientists, led by R.J. Oppenheimer who, over the years prior to the mission, have been working on achieving nuclear fission in order to make the construction of the bomb possible. As the night progresses, the eight scientists - amongst whom some Nobel Prize laureates - plus Mrs Oppenheimer and General Graves of the U.S. Army, become more and more intoxicated, trying to come to terms with the consequences of their actions. Did they just do what had to be done, in order to win the war? Or did they irremediably abuse the power of science?
