We can potentially get funding for a film, or TV production or something further down the line due to his contacts and the sheer awesomeness and level of his stories, but before we can do anything, we need a pilot.
I have access to all the equipment I need to shoot it, and will be able to find crew etc. but I need a writer or two to work with because although I am a film maker and creative writer, I have an absolute block about how to get this going. I've read too much of his stuff! I have the character mapped out, and I have all the foundations I need for the stories, but I need someone to work with as I am the kind of creative who takes something and develops it as opposed to the kind who can just get a framework in place first.
For example - you read the stories. You get a general idea for a pilot. You tell me, we discuss, I mold it more to my ideas as I know him and I will be the director. We work together on the development. You say he meets someone in a cafe in the evening. I say what they're wearing, the nuances of the speech, what music is playing, who else there, what the weather is like etc.
The only issue is that there is no funding at this stage so I am not expecting any kind of rush. I've been there and done that and during my film degree I did over a 1000 hours of free work to get as good as I am so I know the score. I hate asking for free work, but I do also very well know and understand the value of being involved in things that might lead somewhere great, and the experience in and of it's self.
So, if this sounds like something you might be interested in helping me with, let me know, I look forward to hearing from you!
This job is unpaid - Pilot - potential funding for development later
NOTE: there is no timeframe for the project whatsoever. There are specifics involved with the character and storylines etc. but the stories are very sensitive and can't just be sent out t everyone. The only details necessary at this stage are that the main character is like James Bonds' accountant. Nonchalant. Ends up in crazy situations when he should just be working on the finances for a large engineering project building a bridge or something. It's the financial world as high as it goes for members of the public. He's a civil servant but rubs shoulders with people you're not even going to believe. Based in the City of London, but true jet-set life stlye. Meets Priministers and Princesses all over the world. The kind of world the average Joe on the street doesn't even know exists.
And it's all true... That's the best bit.
And for the record for those asking, yes, if you work on the pilot, you stay with the project after one way or another...
