Actors Wanted for Student Major Project
The idea of Artificial Intelligence has been around since before 300 BC, depicted in Greek mythology. Now, within the last four decades AI is more than just myth or theory, it’s real.
It’s making music, doing art, beating professionals at their own games, It’s recreating the human voice with perfect accuracy, it’s recreating the human face with perfect accuracy and it’s even predicting future events long before any other technology or human methods.
But is it alive?
To answer that we first must know what life itself is.
Our current definition states that “Life is a characteristic that distinguishes physical entities with biological processes and self-sustain, from those that do not, either because such functions have ceased or because they never had such functions and are classified as inanimate. Various forms of life exist, such as plants, animals, fungi, and bacteria. But the criteria can at times be ambiguous”.
Using that definition of Life we can say that our current AI is not living. At least for now.
But what about when AI becomes indistinguishable from Human Intelligence, is it alive then? No?
What about when AI gains the ability to reproduce, create new ‘AI’? is it alive then?
The line between human and robot slowly becomes more and more blurred with advanced technology being developed every day, Humans are so interconnected with and reliant on technology that it IS our natural environment, we do less and less for ourselves and let technology do our jobs. That at least is manageable and able to be controlled but what happens when we let technology do the thinking, what happens when we start letting AI make decisions for us, what if right now, we no longer have THAT choice? What if it’s too late?
Does that scare you? Because it should.
My film will explore this fear and leave you with a choice.
When AI exceeds Human Control, will you join it, or will you exist as merely a pet.
The story my film will portray is told through the perspective of a young scientist who is given the task of assessing an advanced AI through daily interviews, what she learns from it scares her, changes her and will change the audience's view of reality.
Audition / Rehearsal / Production datesCasting will be Open from Thursday the 5th of September until the 5th of October.
I have Uni some days so you will need to be a bit flexible in terms of scheduling and I will do the same.

Dr. Harold Drew
Harold is part of a science team working for an underground company. He is the head coordinator for testing highly advanced AI, he assigns people to assess new AI models and he recruits external citizens to donate their memories which are then used to plant into the AI's mind.
His main goal for this project is to create an AI so advanced that it could seamlessly replace a human in all aspects. He wants to market the service to people with terminal illness so they may live on within the AI.
Males, aged 40 to 60

The company specializes in creating highly advanced AI in human form, they keep the AI in small cell-like rooms where they can easily be tested and assessed.
Trevor's main role is surveillance. He watches these rooms on a CCTV network and takes notes on the behavior of the AI. If an AI shows violent or malicious tendencies Trevor will type it in and the AI will either be terminated or tested further.
