Gaffer for Outdoor Scenes in Ambitious Short Film
It is a minimal dialogue philosophical piece that tells a story of mankind from an outsider's perspective.
As with most of our recent projects, we expect to be entering it into film festivals around the world. Also, like most of our projects, it is a passion project and alas unpaid.
We expect to be shooting at weekends, probably over 4 or five shoot days in total, though not everyone will be required at all days.
Due to some constraints around our desire for early morning light and the fact that some of it will be shot a couple of hours drive out from Melbourne, this will necessitate some very early mornings, so don't apply if you can't wake up early! You may also need access to a car!
This call is for a gaffer. A lot of the shoots will be taking place in natural sunlight and we'll be playing a big emphasis on look and feel, so you'll be responsible for ensuring that our characters are properly lit against their environment.
Audition / Rehearsal / Production datesProbably over 4/5 days at weekends over November/December, though we may try and get a cheeky little day in on October 5 or 6 as there's a specific shot against some crops that might not be available after October.
This job is unpaid
We have lights, but if you have a preference for using your own, you're very welcome to discuss with the DoP - you'll be working closely with them anyway!
Anyone, aged 18 and over
