Synopsis:
Food is the addiction everyone has…Within a luxurious London restaurant, over the course of an evening, a series of unfortunate events and obstacles are dealt to the kitchen staff, the beating heart of this establishment. When a notorious food critic arrives unexpectedly, their cooking skills are put to the test while also dealing with their own unique and at times, obscure personal problems. Order up!
The most notable influences are from filmmakers such as Wes Anderson (Director of The Grand Budapest Hotel / The Life Aquatic with Steve Zuzuri) and Terry Gilliam (Director of Brazil, Monty Python & the Life of Brian, Monty Python & the Holy Grail). The tone and visual style we are aiming for is very reminiscent of how Wes writes his dialogue and presents us with a dysfunctional group of “quirky” or “unique” characters in a particular environment, this being the kitchen. At the same time it has a strong satire and surreal element that Monty Python manages to encapsulate with its comedic presence and orchestrated group ensemble.
