We are casting for the lead, titular role in our short Romantic Drama, "Rosie".
The film focuses on Rosie, a woman suffering from late-stage Alzheimer's, investigating the music playing from somewhere in her house. As Rosie's stair lift takes her upstairs, the paintings on her staircase wall trigger vague memories, and help Rosie slowly piece together who she is.
We are a group of graduate filmmakers with experience working on multiple award-winning projects, including Scott Dexter's Silver City. We would aim to continue in a similar vein with Rosie by getting the film on the festival circuit.
The shoot would be a single day, with payment of £50. We would also make sure to reimburse any travel expenses.
We are very excited to get this production up and running.
Audition / Rehearsal / Production datesCurrently yet to be decided, due to Covid-19 restrictions. It would be great to be able to complete the film by the end of 2020, but we are happy to arrange around when is suitable and safe for our cast and crew.
Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity - £50 + expenses
Expenses paid - travel expenses will be reimbursed (we will also look to provide lunch, if our budget allows so).
Collaborations should create mutual benefit and are usually amateur, student or 'Time for Print' projects.
All advertisers agree to abide by the UK National Minimum Wage Act and are responsible for defining the nature of their production and any payment requirements. Find out more.
Due to Rosie's deteriorating health, we are looking for an actor comfortable with conveying the confusion, fragility and disorientation experienced by those with dementia. The role will require no dialogue, and so the ability to do so through facial expressions and physicality is the aim (please note that the role will not be physically demanding).
Female, aged 65 and over
Applications closed 1 October 2020.
