For the video, I wanted to pivot on the song’s narrative, and rather than having it tell the story of two lovers being separated, have it depict the heartbreaking separation of an immigrant family by the hands of I.C.E. Officers in the U.S. – as a mother is forcibly detained and separated from her child. This music video is intended to bring attention to the thousands of immigrant families who are separated by I.C.E. in the United States, and the everlasting trauma that these families endure.
We are looking to cast:
- Two ICE officers
The project will be seen and shared online (via Youtube, Vimeo, etc).
I'm a fourth-year film student with a focus on writing/directing. Our Producer (Ethan), Director of Photography (Tom), Head Editor (Ana), and Production Designer (Fatima), are all film students with extensive experience through their involvement in other student films, and their own freelance work.
There is minimal stunt work required for any of the roles listed. The MOTHER will be handcuffed and escorted out of her house, towards the ICE/police car. The actual act of handcuffing will not be shown.
Both the CHILD and MOTHER will be required to cry, or at least show visible emotional distress.
Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity - possibility of payment
Collaborations should create mutual benefit and are usually amateur, student or 'Time for Print' projects.
The mother is a caring, loving, and protective figure. The love she has for her child is tender and honest. She aspires to provide a "normal" life to her child. The mother is painfully aware of the looming possibility that she could one day be deported and separated from her child - yet keeps this reality hidden from her child so as not to frighten them

ICE Officer / Police
The ICE officers are ruthless, lacking any sense of empathy or humanity. Their only concern is detaining undocumented immigrants, and successfully deporting them from the United States. They have no regard for the trauma they are inflicting on the child, the mother, nor the fact that they are destroying a family.
