At the wake of a distant family relative, Julian must find the confidence to be himself; even if “being himself” means dressing and acting like a moth.
Shooting October 21 - October 28
A 7-minute AFTRS Graduation short film set for release at the end of 2020.
Join us as we follow Julian (35), a man who still carries out the childhood belief that he's a moth. Obviously it's a comedy, but don't let that fool you - Mothboy has heart.
At the wake of a distant family relative, Julian is forced to confront family members he hasn't seen in decades without revealing the fact that he hasn't given up his childhood fantasy of being a moth.
The concept is a steppingstone for a larger feature length project down the line.

Maude is a kind hearted woman. She is meek and mild; trying her best to conform to the expectations of those who live in her small town. She is perhaps too concerned about what people think of her, in particular, her adult outcast son, Julian. This is a major speaking role in the film.
Female, aged 60 to 70
