This is a preliminary call out for actors to portray an intergenerational friendship linked with struggling family dynamics and the importance of saving our untouched wild areas (environment).

This will be a student graduate short film shot later this year, and we are currently looking to see potential actors/ collaborators to help drive the script.

Our characters come from migrant backgrounds (2nd generation Irish-Australian & post-war migrant Italian respectively), so we are seeking actors who are able to ground themselves with personal links to these cultures & experiences. If not this specific heritage, but you are still eager, please tell us your diverse family history and how it has shaped your life in Australia.

The owner of this listing has agreed to abide by local 'working with children' regulations. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Job payment

Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity - This is a student film, so we would provide BTS and scenes for your show reel, and can try to cover your expenses where we can.

Collaborations should create mutual benefit and are usually amateur, student or 'Time for Print' projects.

One of our two leads, this character's migrant history in her youth shapes her current elderly life in Australia. She has a passion for the environment as it is how she has tried to reconcile and love this new country as her home, lost her baby to miscarriage and now lives alone. She is currently Italian, but if you have a better personal heritage story please share it with us.

Facing absent parents struggling with shift work to pay the bills, our young girl (one of two leads) meets an older lady and latches onto her for guidance. Engages more with the environment as a healing space through this friendship. She must learn that her parents and brother are simply struggling more than they let on and that she needs to help them too with as much of an open mind as she has for her new old lady friend.
