The most talented and famous member of The Three Tenors suddenly dies under unseemly circumstances, leaving the remaining members facing financial ruin and playing to empty post-Covid houses.
A world-famous, delusional, Joan-Collins-esque mezzo-soprano also finds herself out of work as she advances in years and talented countertenors begin to take all her notes and her roles.
In a desperate attempt to remain relevant and solvent, the three decide to form a group. As famous and washed-up celebrity singers alike to join them along the way, the troupe embark on the ride of their lives, realising it's this or a Vegas residency singing 'Con ti partiro' for all eternity.
You will be joining me in my various incarnations, primarily as a loose cannon star mezzo-soprano based on Italian singer Cecilia Bartoli. Nothing is sacred as we gently satirise beloved musical theatre warhorses, classic-contemporary crossover, ridiculous opera plots, and the "make opera cool" movement
You should be quick-witted, light on your feet, a terrific improviser and an even better impressionist who is, ideally, versed in both grand opera and the great British music hall comedic tradition.
We offer a diverse and innovative musical program suitable for any occasion.
Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity - The opportunity will initially be unpaid as we establish the act and begin rehearsals virtually. However, we will quickly be shifting to paid gigs and will split all proceeds equally between members.
Collaborations should create mutual benefit and are usually amateur, student or 'Time for Print' projects.
