Voiceover & Radio

In need of 3 actors of varying age and gender to record a small portion of dialogue REMOTELY which will act as a voicemail left for our main character in our short student film 'Lucky Penny'.

'Lucky Penny' explores the relationship of a brother and sister after the passing of their father and how they cope now both their parents are gone. These voicemails are left on Sophie's (the main character) phone before she finds out about her father's death.

Each of the characters are as follows:

(Sophie's friend)
Personality/ mannerisms:
-Posh accent, potentially put on to seem more sophisticated.
-Talks a little too much, exhausting personality.
- Stays connected with old friends (Sophie and David) but seems more of a curtesy.
- Calls Sophie to merely show she’s heard rather than check in on her: talks about her own problems showing she is not a supportive friend.
- Doing it for the gossip.

BILL - MALE: 30s-50s
(Sophie's boss)
Personality/ mannerisms:
- Formal and professional but also blunt.
- Has a soft spot for Sophie but is not impressed by her communication skills.
- A little salty: gives Sophie opportunities but she doesn’t take them.
- Calls Sophie as is expecting a big presentation from her in the next few days but is annoyed by her lack of professionalism.
- This seems be a last straw for Sophie if she misses this opportunity given to her.

(Sophie's ex-boyfriend)
Personality/ mannerisms:
- Aggressive and angry, thinks its passionate.
- More common accent, thinks Sophie is too good for him and uses that against her.
- Hates not having her around
- Heavy drinker, used as a coping mechanism.
- Calls Sophie as they clearly have a complicated relationship and he wants her back.
- Doesn’t know her dad has passed away however can be deduced he wouldn’t be supportive.
- Wants the last word hence a voicemail.
