Male Speaking Role Needed - Student Action Parody of "Taken"

Male Speaking Role Needed - Student Action Parody of "Taken"

New South Wales, Australia
Listed by View details

I'm a filmmaker studying at AFTRS (BA), and have recruited some peers to make a new short film. All we need now is some talented, energetic actors to bring our idea to life!

Logline: "Split" starts as a light comedy as two mates muck around passing each other inanimate objects and pretending to answer them like phones. However, when our protagonist Jake is passed a banana the banana talks back! The film turns dark and cinematic as the banana lists demands from Jake, else his entire family will be murdered! (Think the movie "Taken"... but with a ridiculous, 'fruity' antagonist.) Now, Jake must race across Sydney, answering several ringing bananas in different, wacky locations - to stop the Banana from killing his family.

The acting is realistic and serious to make the concept that much more fun!
This is a personal, fun project so it is unpaid. If the wacky idea wasn't enough to hook you in – you'll also get to meet some AFTRS students (who always need actors for student films) and get your face out on online platforms/film festivals.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates

Unpaid – this is a collaboration opportunity - Student Film

You’re Jake’s goofy friend, Simon. You both enjoy watching Futurama, drinking beer and playing jokes on each other. One of these jokes ends up getting Jake in a whole lot of trouble with an angry, vengeful banana.
