BIRDY is a drama/comedy micro budget feature film being directed by an ADG nominated director (Australian Director's guild)

Title: Birdy
Genre: Comedy/drama/fantasy
Logline: A grieving, unsuccessful painter must suddenly deal with her Creativity showing up in the form of a child-like woman, catapulting her life into a chaotic mess.

BROOKE (30-40) Main character's sister. Brooke has her life together- she is an engineer with a PHD, has a beautiful house and an awesome daughter (10) .She has a train wreck of a sister and a strained relationship with her. Brooke lost her dad a year ago and has resentment towards her sister about their dad (thinks he loved her sister more than her)

Brooke is gay and there is a date scene (no kissing)

Shoot dates are in Oct/ Nov (about 6 days all up)

The film is written and directed by a female filmmaker whose past shorts have made Tropfest and Oscar qualifying film festivals. Her web series was granted Screen Aus funding and earned her an ADG nomination.

The cast includes actresses from Shortland Street and Tonight with Tom Ballad.

The film will be submitted to film festivals such as Sundance, SXSW and Tribecca. It will most likely end up on iTunes if we don't get licensed on Netflix or SBS.
