Extras Needed for Graduate Student Film - 'Homesick'

Extras Needed for Graduate Student Film - 'Homesick'

Victoria, Australia
Listed by View details

Kate, a soon-to-be-mother, and her partner Charlie, an Iranian refugee, have just moved into a new house, but when Charlie’s visa is cancelled, and he is locked in an Australian Detention Centre, their dream of a home is shattered. Kate now silently suffers as she waits indefinitely for Charlie’s return. But after six years of waiting, the compounding stresses of relational estrangement, emotional isolation, and single parenting have led her hope, mental health, and love to wither. Ultimately, in an essential act of endurance and love, Kate proposes to Charlie in detention – promising to wait forever.

'Homesick’ our 4th-year graduate short film at Swinburne University, is a story about the silent suffering of refugees and their families affected by Australia's strict immigration system. It is a story about the lengths people will endure to hold onto themselves and those they love.

The final film will be submitted to film festivals both nationally and internationally.

We are currently reshooting one day of the film and looking for Extras to fill a Detention Center. We would love for you to join us for the day.
