Child and Adult Actors Required for Student Short Superhero Film

Child and Adult Actors Required for Student Short Superhero Film

London, UK
Listed by View details

The whole movie is kept in the convention of black comedy, putting the whole genre of superhero movies in a mirror image. Although this is a story about a child's fascination with superpowers and the will to help others, the final message is the conclusion that the real hero is not made by supernatural skills, but by ordinary human activities and the will to fight for a better tomorrow.

Living in West Rivertown is still the same routine. People wake up in the morning, shop, greet their neighbors, go to work, and in the meantime they have to be careful not to fall within the range of the next super-villain attack. The only person keeping this city in order is a hero called Captain Justice.

One of Captain Justice's heroic deeds is witnessed by the young boy Josh, who dreams of becoming a superhero. Josh spends his days flipping through comic books and watching the local hero do on TV. One day he discovers that he also has superpowers and, at the urging of his friend, goes to the city to bring justice. However, helping the needy does not always go as planned, especially when you do not control your powers. Every attempt by Josh to help makes matters worse, which makes the young boy give up his dreams of becoming a hero.

After 10 years, Josh leads a couch potato type life. There are empty beer bottles and pizza boxes everywhere in his room. One thing has not changed - he still watches superhero films on TV. When he goes to a gas station in the evening, driven by a lack of alcoholic beverages, he gets the last chance to save the day. He succeeds, however, not because of his superpowers, but because of ordinary human kindness.
