Living With It is a AFTRS Graduate short film that will be filming February 2022.

LOGLINE: In a culture where strength is measured by how well you conceal your emotions, Aylena will do anything to avoid talking to her dad about her feelings – including recounting her life story to a telemarketing caller.

We are looking for actors based in Sydney/ Greater Sydney to fill the following roles.

**ALL ACTORS INVOLVED WITH THE PROJECT WILL HAVE TO BE FULLY VACCINATED**

These roles will be UNPAID but the shoot is fully catered.

The owner of this listing has agreed to abide by local 'working with children' regulations. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates

ALL ACTORS WILL NEED TO BE AVAILABLE DURING OUR SHOOT DAYS
WEDNESDAY 16TH FEB – SUNDAY 20TH FEB 2022
Actors will also be required for 1-2 rehearsal days prior to the shoot.

Aylena

Aylena is a 17 year old Lebanese Australian in her final year of school.. She is witty and forward with her friends and her brother, but she holds back when talking to her dad. And it ultimately becomes her biggest challenge to convince not just her dad, but also herself, that maybe everything isn’t fine and talking to someone can actually help.

Daniel

Daniel picked up a guitar and ran away from home the moment he could. As the eldest child in the family, there have always been huge expectations put on Daniel that he has to live up to. The passing of his mother was like a wake up call for Daniel, where he realised he needed to pursue his passion of playing music- life was too short.Daniel still struggles to connect with his father, knowing he is seen as a disappointment by him, regretting abandoning the family at such a difficult time.

Aylena’s best friend Bronte, moved up the coast to Byron Bay just recently and it couldn’t have been a worse time when it comes to best friend duties. Not long after Bronte’s family moved away and she was no longer living near Aylena, Aylena’s mum passed, leaving Aylena’s family in broken shambles. Ever since Bronte has been trying to be a good friend and support Aylena all through the tools of facetime and messaging, but finds herself struggling as Aylena only ever wants to talk about fun stuff
