Crew Wanted for Short Film
I am working on re-writing the script, which I previously wrote about a year-and-a-half ago, and I'm also working on casting the actors for the roles, and hiring on board certain key crew members that I need at this point in the production. I will be a Producer on the film myself, as well as the Director & Screenwriter.
We are also, yet to secure funding for the film. I am work on a funding application, for submission to the New Zealand Film Commission. If funding for the film is successful, then it would mean that the film will be shot in March or April, 2016, over the course of two days, and the film will be edited over the course of about two weeks.
I don't have a preference, in terms of age or previous experience, of the applicants. Just as long as you are interested in the job, and you of course are interested in film making, and work well when collaborating with other people.
You'll find more information about what kind of crew members we are looking for, below on this page.
I will of course, get into more detail about the project, with whoever is hired for each of the jobs.
The film will most likely be shot in Palmerston North and Wellington, but the jobs are open to anyone who lives anywhere in New Zealand. We can try and sort out working and contact arrangements later on.
If one of these jobs sounds like something that you are interested in, please apply now and I look forward to possibly having you on board as a member of the production team.
All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Paid - $100 - $250 per day (depending on the position)
No experience required, but is preferred.
You'd be assisting during the two days of filming, for whichever tasks you may be needed for at the time, as well as assisting in some aspects of pre-production planning.
1st Assistant Director
No experience required, but it is still preferred.
You'd be working with myself, the Director, in drawing up the shooting schedule, and making sure it’s kept to. You'll also be working with me on set, for two days, assisting in different areas of the filming stages.
Some writing experience preferred.
I've so far, finished two drafts of the script, which right now, comes in at just under 34 pages.
You'd be working with me, in doing several typical re-writes of the script. It's a relatively straightforward position that you'd be filling.
Your role on the production, would be to take still images of the filming process, which would eventually be used as publicity images for the film.
Also, you would have to supply your own camera.
You would be, working with myself, the director, over the course of around 2 weeks, at the Park Road Post-Production studios, in Wellington, editing the footage for the film.
Some previous experience in film editing is preferred.
No experience required.
Your role on the production would be to help in searching for shooting locations.
We have one location so far, which we haven't been able to confirm we'll be filming there yet, but we are looking to film there. Due to the nature of the script, the film only requires two shooting locations.
You would be working, on set for the two days of filming, setting up and packing away the camera equipment, each day, and making sure it is all operational and there are no problems with the equipment.
Continuity / Script Supervisor
Your job would be to ensure that, especially because the film is being shot out-of-sequence, that everything ends up making continuous verbal and visual sense, keeping track, over the course of filming, of what has been filmed, and what hasn't.
