Get Hairy - The No Shave Movement
Let’s showcase the opposite of what the beauty industry usually puts out into the world.
We want the images to be beautiful and natural. Just like the women we are
Last year, with barely a brass razoo, Get Hairy February was able to raise more than
$40,000 for women’s domestic violence charity The Full Stop Foundation through 445
women becoming sponsored on their journey. And we were able to get our message heard
on ABC News, Mashable, the Sydney Morning Herald, Broadsheet, and Cosmo amongst
others. Over a million people were reached with its message of natural beauty.
It’s time women of all ages, and girls, to realise that body hair is natural. That there’s
nothing wrong with it. And that we can use this body empowering campaign to raise a
lot of money to put an end to domestic violence against women. Because our bodies should
not only be embraced, but respected and free from violence and abuse.
That’s why we believe creating a beautiful photoshoot of some of the strong Australian
women who have let their underarm and leg hair grow could make a powerful statementfor
young girls, women of all ages, and in the media.
With your help, we hope to raise $150,000 and get thousands more women to be a part of
the campaign, and to be confident in their own body.
Let’s show women do have a choice.
