As a part of the 2018 Brisbane Anywhere Festival, Z24 will be a 24-hour live newscast of the upcoming apocalypse. As such we are looking for a large crew of camera operators, sound technicians and editors to work in shifts and help cover the full event.
Z24 will be a groundbreaking blend of theatre, film and live streaming that will attract a worldwide audience.

If you've ever wanted experience in a bustling news room or if you've ever wanted to work on a zombie movie- then this is the job for you!

Production work will begin of May 1st with the actual event spanning from May 26 to the 29th

Camera Operator

You'll be part of a camera team and in charge of filming for one shift. No equipment required- just a little bit of know-how and willingness to turn up.

Broadcast editor

You'll be part of a team working closely with the Broadcast Technician and News Director. Experience with live streaming and film editing is desired, but not required. This role is best suited to people who are good with computers and able to think on their feet. Software training will be provided.

Gaffer

This role will be on-call during the event in case our lighting system malfunctions. If everything goes according to plan you'll only be required for bump in and out.
Experience with lighting is preferred, but not required.

You'll be part of a sound team and in charge of sound mixing for one shift. No equipment required, just a bit of know-how and good ears.

Production Assistant

This role will involve working closely with the News Director and Production Manager to make sure things are happening on schedule. You'll be checking things off the schedule and keeping a production log as the day goes.
You will need pens.

Production Manager

You'll be in charge of the comings and goings outside the studio and in constant communication with the news director. This means making sure actors and crew are arriving on time and keeping the location secure.
Additionally you will have a team of "zombies" outside the studio who you'll be in charge of directing as they try to break into the news room.
There will also, tentatively, be a studio audience who you'll look after as they arrive.
