Looking for a role that provides great experience, creativity, fun AND makes a difference? StarJam is looking for a Masterton singing tutor!

StarJam was created to provide opportunities for young people with disabilities to shine. The weekly workshops are based on acceptance, respect; and focusing on successes, improvements and triumphs however small, regardless of whether they are performance based. Workshops are open to anyone between the ages of 6 and 25 years old. There are a maximum of 12 spaces available in each workshop.

About the Role:
The weekly workshops require one tutor to help facilitate and support the young people with disabilities in the workshop. The tutor is responsible for planning each workshop, empowering the young people to achieve their goals, and celebrating their many achievements. The tutor will be supported by at least two volunteers in the workshop.

The Masterton singing workshop is held on Monday evenings during the school terms from 6.30-8.00 PM. It is best suited to someone that can take on the weekly commitment for the 2019 school year. Background and/or experience in professional singing is not required, but excellent facilitation and communication skills are essential.

This is a paid role - $82.50 per workshop tutored. This is broken down to include administration, planning, and occasional attendance at other StarJam events (performances) where your workshop is involved. An orientation session is provided to new workshop tutors, as well as ongoing mentoring.
