Up in Smoke is a short film that sees an alienated young woman gain momentary purpose when listening to a self-help CD centering on restraint. Whilst its teachings allow her to displace the ritual of smoking, when she unwittingly encounters the author in a pub, she is confronted with the confusing truth that his motivations were born from self-righteousness rather than a desire to help
This is a NON PAID role, however, all travel and food expenses will be paid throughout production.
Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates
Casting is set to take place over the next two weeks.Provisional date to cast is Monday 10-4 on the 18th of February at the Kinning Park Community Centre.
Filming is set to take place between the 18th and the 24th of March 2019.

Protagonist
Corrie is a sensitive and intelligent young woman who feels dissatisfied with life due to both the lack of structure after graduating University and the nihilism of her peers. She is receptive to self-help because of this and it leads her on a journey of realisation. Much of the performance will be through Corrie's reactions to others behavior, so it's important to be able to convey emotion through looks as well as dialogue. You will also be required to smoke cigarettes during the role.
