Eagles Nest Theatre Company is looking for new Indigenous Actors to join their Black Diggers Comparative Workshop Tour Project in 2019.

Comparing and contrasting the texts Black Diggers (Tom Wright) and The Longest Memory (Fred D’Aguiar), this tour is taken to secondary schools throughout Victoria and presents these texts in an engaging comparative workshop. The aim of this workshop is to engage students with the texts, compare and contrast ideas and themes, and bring theatre to schools.

Audition / Rehearsal / Production dates

Actors will be auditioned through April 2019.
Rehearsals to commence throughout May and June 2019.
Actors will then tour throughout July and August 2019.
Actors must be flexible with tour dates spanning across the three months.
20 dates with secondary schools already booked in and there is potential for more school bookings to arise across the two months.

Job payment

Paid - Paid per workshop. Travel expenses reimbursed.


Actor

We are looking for people with enthusiasm and willingness to engage with the youth of today. Whilst not only looking deep into the texts we require actors who are willing to be venerable and open about their identity and culture and willing to share stories to strengthen the themes of the texts.

We also require applicants to have the following:

Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
Hold a Current WWC
Have a Drivers License
Have an ABN
Melbourne Based

Males, aged 18 and over
