Bella Kinetica are looking for 2 talented male roller skaters - London
About the Show
On roller-skates and in the air, two women revisit the interweaving stories of their past lives and loves – from the post-war optimism of the 1940s to the domestic realities of the 1950s and beyond.
Bella Kinetica aim to stage an exciting new production that combines circus disciplines with traditional theatrical devices, with a cast of four physical performers, to create a new and innovative show that tells a moving story of friendship.
The show will be performed entirely on roller skates, with spoken word and aerial elements, as well as physical theatre and choreography. It will be directed by Angela Gasparetto, with Simeon Qsyea as choreographer.
We are looking to cast two male roller skaters with a playing age of mid to late twenties. Applicants must be strong roller skaters (quad skates), preferably with a vocabulary that includes some dance skating or acrobatic tricks, however this is not essential. We are also interested in people who skate on ramps. We are looking for confident performers with acting skills and stage presence, and the ability to improvise and contribute creatively.
The show will include some musical and aerial elements, so experience in either of these is a plus, but not essential.
Applicants should ideally be available for the 22nd and 23rd of August, and for two weeks starting the 10th of September. Rehearsals will be in Bristol and in London. Future rehearsals to take place in early 2013, subject to availability.
