Meg is a senior Music Composition major at Texas Christian University with an emphasis on Film Scoring and Production. She has been focusing on media music for the last two years, and during that time she has scored about 13 podcasts, three video games, a dozen scenes, and four short films. Additionally, she is in the advanced Electro-Acoustic music department and is part of TCU’s only Laptop Ensemble, which is dedicated to the integration of electronic music.
Meg has always had a love for film music. Her favorite film composers are Hans Zimmer, Ramin Djwadi, and John Williams. Although she has long loved music, she was self-taught for most of her life and only just started receiving formal training since she has come to college. At TCU, she has studied under Trey Gunter and Neil Anderson-Himmelspach, and she was the first Electro-Acoustic Music Composition major at TCU. For her last two years, she was voted to be the president of the Society of Composers, an organization for all composers to come together to learn from each other and participate in activities.

Her Sophomore year, Meghan got accepted into the Palomar Film Scoring Workshop in San Diego, CA, where she studied with veteran film and game composers such as Larry Groupe, Roger Neill, George S. Clinton, Garry Schyman, and Rick Marvin. The following year, Meg got accepted into another film scoring workshop at New York University, where she studied film scoring and production for two weeks with NYU faculty such as Sergi Castanelles and Mark Suozzo as well as the world-famous composer for the X-Files, Mark Snow, and Michael Levine, who works for Hans Zimmer. At that workshop, Mark Snow and Michael Levine commended her for her talent and hard work, and both of them asked her for her contact information to work on future projects.

Meghan is a summer intern with Bruce Faulconer, who wrote the music for Dragon Ball Z. She was also a finalist in the Television Academy Foundation’s search for a summer intern in 2019.

Meg hopes to pursue a masters in film scoring once she graduates. After that, she hopes to have made enough contacts and built a strong enough resume to score films in Hollywood.
