Professional songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist & producer Nick Schinder, founding member of The Child (his long term project and alter ego) and Deep River Running (a partnership with lyricist Jacqui Doherty) - has toured the world playing both originals and covers to the highest standard, released 7 albums of original music, and contributed to countless projects with his session and production skills, both for signed (Sony) and unsigned artists, and praised even by Peter Gabriel.

In 2008, Nick Schinder meets Jacqui Doherty (English Poet & lyricist) and together they create Deep River Running. They have released 3 albums under that name (2009’s homonymous, 2011’s “Revolutions For The Soul” and 2013’s “One Turn Around The Sun”), all available world-widely via iTunes and most online retailers.
In 2010, the animated video for their single “Don’t Give It Up” (directed by renowned Mexican director Fernando Leal) generates an interesting buzz on the net and receives 60.000 views in a few months.
This year, one of Nick’s singles, “My Song”, has been included as first track on Raul Gomez (winner of Spain’s most popular singing TV contest and followed by millions of viewers)’s debut album, released by EMI/Sony.

Some reviews about Nick and his bands:
“Great voice... very well played and performed...some strong songwriting” (Peter Gabriel)

“you couldn't knock it down even if you had all the Brit-school chart- toppers on your side...brilliant pop-rock...The Child have nailed the pop- rock equation to produce classic tracks. Britpop is back with Argentinean class” (Tasty Fanzine)

“...Pop noire with singer-songwriterly leanings, a fragile voice embellished with ample ambient colour. Very well realized, quite dark and tragi-pop in realization, reminiscent perhaps of Bowie circa Young Americans or the work of Butler and MacAlmont”.(Bugbear)

“First-class pop-rock with a classic feel and some top tunes...a first-class ear for song writing” (Subba-Cultcha)

“They’re quite a mysterious band. They formed in Argentina, they lived in Barcelona, they’re now based in London. I saw them almost by mistake and I was just blown away. They remind me of Jeff Buckley, REM, U2, Radiohead... They have that epic quality. The singer has a vulnerability in his voice that really connects with you, on an emotional level. They’re fantastic. (“Passport Approved” Indie Radio, 103.1, Los Angeles, USA)

“Nick Schinder and Jacqui Doherty combine their musical and poetic
genius in their self-titled and self-produced album, Deep River Running. Schinder, a world-traveled musical anomaly, and Doherty, a published poet, make an impeccable match made in heaven, creating a different vibe for each track...Deep River Running make it impossible to not fall in love with Schinder’s dreamy and captivating vocals, which are beautifully accessorized by Doherty’s lyrics”. (Pirate Cat Radio, San Francisco, USA)
