Michaelangelo said it best ‘Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it’. Acting has always been an art for me. Each character we choose to immerse ourselves in possesses varying levels of intricacies which need unravelling. As a child I found joy in entertaining others and emulating my childhood heroes by recreating scenes from my favourite movies. Growing up I was told goals achieved were initially goals set- scribed and situated within the proximity of ones sight. Consequently, these last two years have been tremendously exciting as I have made leaps towards my vision.
I have been working closely with Katy Stephens who is part of the RSC associations Artist at Bold as Bard in Coventry. Katy has helped me refine my craft and pushed me to audition for National Youth Theatre; which was a resounding success. Subsequently, at Bold as Bard I have played “Macbeth” which was directed by Katy Stephens. Andrew Whyment from the National Youth Theatre has been integral in helping taking my acting to the next level. I was part of a play he directed called “Whatever Lay my head” which was performed at the City hall in London.
The momentum of leaping towards my vision continued as I was part of the “Epic stages” for an intense four weeks with the National Youth Theatre; learnt sign language and had an opportunity to work with amazing talents from different parts of the world. Moreover, I have been working with Gethin Evan in Coram London for over a year which is associated with NYT and have been part of their production called ‘Pericles’ which was performed at the Oliver stage.
At the moment my goal is to further my acting career, I am working closely with the YATI foundation in London to develop and progress.
