Peter started out as a fit young man, but these days tends to be cast as fat middle-aged men with beards.

Most famous as King Henry VIII at Hampton Court, he has recently played seedy doctors in film, plays, tv programmes, an opera and a straight to dvd horror.

Peter missed a day's school to sing the role of a hippopotamus for the BBC. The track was later released - Songs From Watch - on BBC records and tapes, and this remains his best-selling album.

For the next thirty years he has sung bass in many genres. From the British premiere of the Finnish opera Kullervo to do-wop, via a capella, madrigals and choral music of all types.
