Influences: Eva Cassidy, Etta James, Mumford And Sons, Rolling Stones, Maria Callas
I am a singer/songwriter based in East Anglia, UK. I studied classical singing with the ABRSM to Grade 8 standard as-well as guitar and piano. I now perform with a contemporary vocal specializing in a new folk/country sound, with sounds of pop and blues too.
I currently run my own concept contemporary music academy from Norwich, tutoring vocals, guitar, piano, music theory and songwriting.
I worked as a vocalist/guitarist/songwriter in the girl pop band "Wildflowers" from 2007-2008. We were developed and mentored by the producer Eliot Kennedy, working and gigging around the UK and Europe but mainly based in London. We were lucky enough to support Take That on their 2007 tour, which was an amazing and valuable experience.
My work with the Wildflowers helped me develop into a strong, confident songwriter. I wrote half of our demo (Eliot and Gary Barlow writing the other half!) and had so much great feedback about the songs.
This year, I've been working in India. An Indian Malayalam producer (Sunny Viswanath) heard my songs and flew me out there. I wrote 2 songs with him for an International album of East/West fusion music which has had some great results. I've since had an invitation to teach a seminar at AR Rahman's music school in Chennai....!!
I am a unique, quirky yet strong vocalist with a passion for songwriting and performing. My current act is as a guitarist/singer/songwriter but I am also able to move this over onto a piano. I'm very motivated and have learnt from my past experinces in the industry.
