Bass Guitar ability
Influences: Metallica, Killswitch Engage, Opeth, Andy Mckee, Erik Mongrain, Bobby Mcferrin
I have played guitar for over 16 years in a number of different styles and genres, but I would say am most skilled in finger-style acoustic guitar. I write and record my own solo material which I promote and sell via online platforms such as twitter and bandcamp, in addition to progressively expanding a portfolio of original music/sound design for film and television. This is where my real passion lies and as such I will relish any opportunity to develop my composing.
I studied Music Technology and Popular Music at the University of Huddersfield where I graduated with a 2.1 and also worked as Studio Manager at Yellow Arch Studios (Sheffield) in my placement year; a studio that has worked with the likes of Duane Eddy, Richard Hawley and The Arctic Monkeys. As such I have developed a decent amount of academic and industry relevant experience which I would like to utilise to toward furthering my career in music. Scoring for Film was probably my most enjoyable module whilst at university and I am currently working hard to expand my showreel and show what I can really do in this field.
Outside of university, I also was part of a band called Feeds with whom I toured the length and breadth of the UK. To date, we have recorded three EPs and produced six music videos as well as supported the likes of Ash and The Hoosiers amongst many other household names. As such I have built an in depth knowledge of both live and studio based equipment ranging from software packages such as Logic Pro, Pro Tools and Cubase, to an array of hardware including a number of different dynamic/condenser microphones and outboard equipment.
