I come from the African Griot heritage - my family has, for generations, performed educated and counselled the community in which we live and I have entertained for most of my life. I have experience in acting, music and dancing in my own community and this has enabled me to engage and enthral audiences throughout Europe and in my native Africa. I have performed in stadiums, studios, theatres and local libraries; large scale or intimate. I am a master drummer from Ivory Coast and I've been playing percussion instruments since I was six years old. I've been teaching and performing professionally since the age of fourteen and founded the acclaimed Denifari group in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. I was the lead solo percussionist with the German Circus company, Afrika!Afrika!, the only drummer to appear as a solo act on the stage, and toured mainland Europe for two and a half years before settling in England in 2009. Since that time, in addition to my gigs and performance projects, I have delivered educational and community workshops, leading and developing children and adults, with a wide range of abilities to produce music of their own, and to perform before audiences within their own communities. I'm an individual artist and work with other groups, such as Ballet Nimba in Wales, as lead percussionst and Musical Director. I have festival, performance, classical, jazz and large scale production experience, having appeared at Womad, The Beatherder and World Music events. I played with a contemporary fusion band in Manchester called DJembeKan - mixing traditional and electronic beats in the clubs and bars of student land. I have a wide range of experience including afrobeat, rock, classical and jazz. My traditional musical roots spring from the original blues rhythms of West Africa - the fatherland of black American jazz and boogie.

I play all percussion instruments from West Africa, as well as Kamelen NGoni, (a traditional stringed instrument with eight chords, a bit like a Kora), Tama (Talking drum), Jali N' Goni, (guitar-like instrument). I have experience of house music, drum and bass, hip hop and collaboration with rap musicians. I have extensive experience in performance and teaching, and I'm looking for opportuniites to develop this skill here in the UK.
