After successful runs in Spain, France, and the United States, Australia has joined the global trivia craze with its own version of the hit Dutch game show The Floor. Premiering in April 2025, the debut season became an instant ratings success for the Nine Network, drawing over a million viewers per episode.

Hosted by Aussie actor Rodger Corser (Doctor Doctor), The Floor Australia offers a fresh take on the traditional trivia game show format.
The Floor features 81 contestants, each starting with a single tile on a large digital game board. Every tile corresponds to a trivia category, such as historical landmarks or pop culture. When selected by the game’s randomizer, players choose a neighboring opponent and challenge them in that opponent’s category. The winner claims the tile and territory, and the loser is eliminated. An AU $200,000 prize awaits the final winner.
Alongside the gameplay, the show captures humorous interactions between contestants, blending real competition with character-driven entertainment.
Casting for The Floor Australia is managed by Eureka Productions, with Nicole Watt (Farmer Wants a Wife) and Mia Tjoa (Married At First Sight) among the members of the casting team.
The team has expressed a strong interest in finding contestants “from all walks of life,” and Season 1 reflected that ethos. A quick look at the 2025 profiles reveals the cast ranged from 19 to 68 years old; represented every Australian state and territory; and worked as farmers, influencers, and many things in between.
Casting for Season 2 of The Floor Australia has begun, with filming scheduled over approximately 10 days in August or September 2025. To apply, you’ll need to complete a short online form, including contact details, a recent photo, a brief summary of your personality and trivia strengths, and any circumstances that may affect your ability to travel and participate overseas.
