Founded by brothers Umar and Adam Kamani in 2012, PLT had a total rebrand in 2025, swapping its trend-driven pink aesthetic for a calmer, more luxurious vibe with an athleisure feel. PLT describes itself as a “generation-defining style source for every kind of it girl.”

The rebrand has been called a “reintroduction,” but some things remain the same. It’s still a very feminine, fashion-forward label aimed at younger women looking for contemporary clothes at affordable prices. PLT models need to look good, be confident, and reflect the brand’s general ethos and aesthetic. A look at its website and social media will give you an idea of the general type of model the brand uses.

PLT is vocal about its commitment to diversity, body positivity, and general inclusivity, from hiring plus-size models to promoting female empowerment – so models can assume their body type is welcome. Check out the #everyBODYinPLT campaign on social media for more details.

How to apply to be a PLT model

If you want to work with PLT, there are few ways in. First is the tried-and-tested route of becoming a professional fashion model. Easy right? Well, no. It takes a lot of hard work and resilience. That path traditionally involves getting an agent, creating a portfolio, and going to model castings. Most of PLT’s big ad campaigns are cast using established models sourced through agents. Top models such as Elsa Hosk, Polina Ilieva, and Maura Maurer have all worked for PLT.

Then there’s becoming an affiliate and working with the brand through social media. Affiliate models promote PLT, model the clothes online, and earn a small commission (up to 6%) by sharing links. You’ll need a strong social media following, and you’ll have to post regularly and have great engagement with your audience. At the upper end of the scale is affiliate model Chyna Solder, who regularly features PLT products in posts to her 114,000 followers on Instagram and 1 million on TikTok.

Being a PLT fan and wearing the brand’s clothing in your feed could get the attention of its representatives. Use hashtags such as #pltmodel #pltstyle #iamplt, #pltstylesquad, #plthq #outfitinspo, #classofplt, and #ootd in your posts. Also set your profile to public so the brand’s representatives can see your content. Email any questions about the company to affiliate@prettylittlething.com.

If you’ve got a big enough following, PLT may contact you directly. The brand regularly uses influencers such as Joe Baggs, Alicia Roddy, and GK Barry as ambassadors. PLT also has a student ambassador programme, in which students with a following of at least 3,000 on Instagram or TikTok are gifted clothes to wear on a monthly basis.

Social media modelling takes time, thought, and creativity. Take a look at some influencers and micro influencers on TikTok and Instagram to get some ideas for how to work the clothes. It could be a real-time unboxing reel, a keep-or-return film, or just chatting through how you style an outfit, but remember that authenticity is key. Don’t copy anybody else – just be your pretty little self!

1. Research the company.

Get to know PLT inside and out, researching the brand and looking at its official site, TikTok, and Instagram. This interview with their founder is worth a read too. What makes you the ideal fit for the brand? Make yourself indispensable!

2. Create a targeted portfolio.

Think about the PLT aesthetic. Study its models and the types of poses the brand regularly uses, and then take a targeted approach to your own portfolio of photos. Wear PLT clothing, be inspired by its models, and explain to your photographer the look you’re hoping to achieve. Not only can you use the shots for any castings, but you can also use them on your social media feed to get the brand’s attention. At a minimum, your portfolio should include a headshot with minimal makeup and a full-length photo.

3. Get social.

PLT is a young brand that is very social-media-savvy, so being active on a visually led social media platform, such as TikTok or Instagram, is a must for its models. Pack your feed full of the kind of content PLT will be attracted to, and use relevant hashtags.

4. Get networking.

To be a successful model, you’ll need contacts. Networks can be built on social media and by signing with a well-connected agent. Everyone starts somewhere, and people will want to help you further your career if you’re polite, respectful, and professional.

Look for the pros who have worked with PLT before. Use your socials to send your portfolio to other models, stylists, photographers, and makeup artists. Stay open to opportunities wherever they come from, and do your research to join the dots. Boohoo is PLT’s parent company, for example, and booking a job through them will bring you a step closer.

Also, get out into the real world, attend fashion events, and ask friends and acquaintances whether they know anyone in that world. Keep checking relevant casting pages too.

5. Look after yourself.

All models need to look after themselves. Companies book models based on their appearance, after all. That means eating well, exercising, and keeping on top of your grooming and skin-care regimen. It’s also important to keep a check on your mental health. Modelling is a competitive industry, and castings often lead to rejections. You’ll need plenty of resilience. Stay positive, keep going, and don’t get disheartened. PLT is consistently on the lookout for models, and one day they may pick you.
