The teenage years can be a difficult time, but being a teenage model doesn’t have to be tricky if you can find the right agent. You want someone with a great contact book, plenty of experience, and the ambition to kick-start your modelling career to help you get where you want to go. Choosing whom to sign with is probably one of the most important decisions you’ll make, so take your time to get it right.

Chemistry and trust are really important. Imagine it a bit like speed-dating: Are you right for them? Are they right for you? Do some research, ask around, and look at their socials – do you see contented models and families? Are the models doing the kind of work you’d like to do? Does the agency’s office seem like a happy place to work? Inquire about how often you’ll receive feedback. Ask questions and make sure you’re happy with the answers before you even consider signing up.

In the modelling industry, adult models often start their career in their mid teens, so you may find yourself being repped by adult model agencies. Equally, some specialist children’s agencies do rep teenagers. Think about what you’d prefer and what you’re ready for. Most importantly, ask your parents or other trusted adults to help you with your decision.

If your career goes to plan, your agent is going to be by your side every step of the way, so you have to trust them and know that ultimately they’ve got your back. With this in mind, here’s a selection of some of the UK’s best modelling agencies for teens.

JUMP TO

Storm Management

StormStorm is a big name in the modelling world that takes on models from the age of 16. Created more than 30 years ago by Sarah Doukas, Storm knows how to spot a star early on having discovered big names such as Cara Delevingne, Kate Moss, and Jourdan Dunn.

The agency has advertised on TikTok for open casting calls in London for ages 15 and over, but it also holds regular Monday–Friday castings at its Chelsea office from 10–12 p.m. and 2–4 p.m. Storm is not all about modelling, either. It is interested in developing your talents and broadening your career. It reps actors, bloggers, vloggers, writers and presenters, and the agency encourages models to get involved in the business side of their careers.

Storm is a big powerhouse agency, so do consider if that’s a fit for you and whether you’re more suited to a boutique feel. If you fancy applying, you can do so online here.

Model Students

Model StudentsModel Students takes on beautiful people aged over 16. There is a clue in the agency’s name: They’re focused on marketing the “student” age range and on commercial work with brands such Costa Coffee and Paul Smith.

Based in Nottingham with an office in London, Model Students says it’s the only UK modelling agency “providing professional modelling jobs to individuals in full time and part time education.” Just to underline its niche, the agency’s tagline is “more than pretty faces.”

Importantly for younger models, the agency also stresses its “passion” for “encouraging a healthy attitude towards body image.” It also promotes a “friendly and unpretentious approach” to the glamorous world of modelling. You can apply via its website.

Bonnie & Betty Model and Talent Agency

Bonnie & Betty Model and Talent AgencyBonnie & Betty was set up in 2009, as an agency specialising in the representation of children and teenagers. Based in both London and Manchester, it prides itself on its “close knit and friendly feel” and strong relationship-building with its young models and parents. As a first step, why not read Bonnie & Betty’s very informative model info page?

When it comes to the brands Bonnie & Betty works with, its list is pretty impressive, including Apple, Gucci, Barbie, and Burberry. While focused on working with high-end fashion and commercial clients, Bonnie & Betty also finds gigs for young actors. Reassuringly for parents, the agency offers chaperones and tutoring services so that teens’ educational needs are being met.

Bonnie & Betty is a popular agency choice – but at the moment, its books are temporarily closed. However, they will reopen soon, so keep an eye on its website, socials, and mailing list. In the meantime, you can always email the agency at agency@bonnieandbetty.com.

Boss Model Management

BossBoss Models is based in Manchester and kick-started the career of redheaded supermodel Karen Elson when she was just 16 years old. The agency has a juniors and an adult modelling department, so it’s well-suited to help with the transition into the adult industry if desired.

Established in 1988 by Debra Burns, Boss has a proven track record for repping all kinds of models doing all kinds of work. For example, Boss also has a casting agency for budding actors and reps a wide array of creative types from makeup artists to food stylists.

Boss says its ethos is simple: “We conduct our business based on the traditional values of honesty, trust, respect, transparency and integrity. We care about results, which is what drives our passion for excellence.” Applications are taken through its website.

Alphabet Kidz

Alphabet KidzIf you’d like your agency to focus on your needs as a teenager rather than a “young adult,” then Alphabet Kidz may be for you. Based in south London, Alphabet Kidz represents children and teenagers, with a growing reputation in the industry.

Managing director Lisa Balcombe set up the agency in 2003 with the goal of increasing diversity in the industry. She also wanted to boost young people’s self-esteem and help them foster valuable life skills. The agency stops representing models at age 16, so this is for the younger teen model.

Alphabet Kidz has worked with brands such as Marks & Spencer, Primark, and Habitat. Plus, it reps young actors and performers, helping them find film and TV work and gigs in the West End. To apply, fill out its online form. The agency also runs regular workshops in its search for new talent, so keep a beady eye on its website and socials for more info.
